SUNSHINE - GOOD, BAD AND UGLY

Almost 2,000 people died from skin cancer this year just in Australia – ouch!   But sunshine is good for you…some sun now and then stimulates the production of vitamin D which is essential to enhance calcium absorption by your body and as well, lack of vitamin D can be associated with other things like multiple sclerosis, diabetes, depression and prostate disease.  So, how much and how many?  The No 1. rule is be careful and DON’T BURN. Kids love playing in the sunshine, especially at the beach, but please not during the hot hours of the day, and the protection of sunscreens and hats are part of the game.
